The Importance of Cleansing your Place – My Experience
I must admit that I wasn’t a fan of this in the beginning.
I used only a few essential oil diffusers to clean the air but without any special methods. It was simply part of my daily cleaning routine.
Sometimes yes, I used some specific oil to relax and find calm in particularly hectic and heavy days but nothing more.
Then something happened that made me think of and reconsider everything.
One day some guests came to see me, to see my new home and, after this visit, everything changed. I felt strange… it’s hard to describe.
The air in the house was heavy.
I blamed retrograde mercury. Then the influence of retrograde mercury on my sign had passed but not the wave of negativity that was affecting my life.
The strange thing was that when I left the house, I suddenly felt better as if relieved of weight. So I suspected it had to do something with my home.
Thinking and thinking about what could have triggered this negativity, I remembered the exact moment when I started feeling like this: since the guests had come to see me.
Let’s talk About Spiritual House Cleaning
We often don’t even realize how negative energies can stick to some place.
The walls and furniture of the house are imbued with the energies created by the thoughts, actions, and vibrations of those who live there or who visit it.
If you have experienced strong feelings in your home – like hatred or resentment – and there have been quarrels or constant disputes, the vibrations will continue to permeate and weigh down the environments in which we spend most of our lives.
Has it ever happened to you, for example, that you entered a room or a place and had an unpleasant feeling about it?
The older the houses, the more people stayed in it. So if you live in some old place, cleansing it, is even more critical.
How to Cleanse in the Old Fashion Way with Sage – My Way
What do you need
- Matches or lighter
- 1 bunch of sage for smudging
- A small fireproof bowl (the ideal is ceramic and terracotta)
- A bit of sand (this is optional, that’s how I turn off the herbs after using them)
How it’s done
First, take 10-15 minutes and devote this time to the ritual. Calm down.
Light the top of the bunch of herbs with a match or lighter. Shake gently to let the flame go out.
Move the bunch gently in the air so that the smoke expands precisely in the corners of the house you want to purify.
Extinguish the embers by placing the bunch in the bowl when you have finished “cleaning”.
I have to admit is not that easy to find some high-quality sage at an affordable price, so I usually rely on sage incense sticks to cleanse my space without spending all my money!
Many stores in my city don’t sell sage, so I had to buy it online, pay for delivery, taxes, and all this annoying stuff.
Buying incense sticks is an easier, more affordable and even more practical solution for me!
You can find these sticks on Amazon US or Amazon UK.
I light the stick and spread the smoke all around my space, spending more time where I feel it needed some extra TLC.
I visualize bad energies, imagining they are in a form of a black cloud and being pushed away by the white smoke of my sage incense stick.
If I feel it too, I chant something like: “Bad energies to go away. Leave this sacred happy space.”
Nothing fancy, but this message must come from the heart!
My Favorite Essential Oils to Cleanse the House
With essential oils, we can do two things at once. In addition to purifying the environments, they, in fact, release a pleasant aroma.
There are hundreds of these oils on Amazon US and Amazon UK so feel free to check them out there.
For a deep purification you can opt for these essential oils:
Incense: it is perhaps one of the most used oils since ancient times. It was burned to reconnect with the gods.
In fact, it has the advantage of purifying the air from heavy and stagnant energies. And at the same time, it helps you reconnect with your spiritual self.
Officinal Lavender: it is the “all-rounder” of essential oils.
This oil is perfect even if there are children at home because it is neither toxic nor irritating.
In addition to the pleasant fragrance that helps people relax, it has a thousand other properties. It is antiseptic and antibacterial, able to destroy even the staphylococcus aureus. Basically, it deeply disinfects environments.
You can learn more about the magical properties of lavender here.
Cinnamon: its essential oil is so powerful that it is capable of destroying 99.99% of microbes, bacteria, viruses, and parasites on its own!
Never use it for too long, max. for three consecutive weeks. One drop is enough for each square meter of room to be purified.
It’s excellent in a diffuser or the radiator dehumidifier.
You can learn more about the magical properties of cinnamon here.
Juniper: cleans environments from accumulated negative energies.
It’s great for the negative vibrations produced by people we don’t like or with whom we fought.
It manages to purify the aura of “etheric dirt”;
Myrtle: this oil purifies the air and the energy of the environments. You can read more about myrtle here.
It is ideal if there have been sick people in your home. It makes the atmosphere more harmonious;
Tulsi: it is also called holy basil.
Sacred plant for Indians, its presence is enough to determine whether an environment is healthy or not.
Considered a magical plant, it drives out evil spirits and attracts beneficial energies.
Sage: another sacred plant, widely used by Native Americans who burned it to invoke the protection of spirits.
In addition to purifying, it protects against negative energies.
Scots pine: also indicated in convalescent places or where therapies are made.
It purifies environments but also people, giving them vigor and strength.
And it accelerates the healing process by stimulating the adrenal cortex.
How to use Essential Oils to Cleanse the House
To purify the house, you can use the oils individually or mix them for a greater effect. Avoid mixing more than four at a time.
For fall and winter, for example, you can try this mix of energizing oils.
Just put them in a spray or the diffuser:
- Incense, 3 drops
- Cinnamon, 2 drops
- Geranium, 4 drops
- Orange, 8 drops
Most of these essential oils are also antibacterial and antiseptic, an excellent solution for the cold season.
So you will have a double beneficial effect, for you and your home!
Minerals and Crystals That Purify your Space
Minerals and crystals also have a purifying action. Many can defend themselves from electromagnetic contamination, others clean the environment of negative energies and rebalance them.
Both bring balance and harmony to the home.
Here are the most important ones, which we can “spread” around the house so that they absorb the negative energies:
Amethyst: the unmistakable violet color that characterizes this stone makes it much loved and appreciated.
It offers protection against all kinds of negativity. It creates a protective shield against the low energies of negative people, preventing us from absorbing them.
Tiger eye: this stone is very protective against the negative energies that saturate both the environment and people.
Shungite: many cultures in Europe have long known the purifying properties of this carbon-based stone.
It is indicated to neutralize the electromagnetic energies and electro-smog caused by electrical appliances, cell phones, wifi … You need to keep it close to computers, telephone, modems, or in the room where you work to create a protective shield.
Black tourmaline: this stone also protects us from the magnetic fields created by PCs, tablets, and mobile phones.
You can put it in the middle of a room to purify it. If you place it at the entrance of the house, it prevents negative energies from entering.
