In Norse legends, Loki does both good and evil. For example, he helps build the great fortresses of the gods and obtains great artifacts that he gives to the Aesiri, such as Thor’s hammer, the Draupnir ring, Sif’s golden hair, the Skidblanir ship, and the Gullinbursti boar. He also gives Odin the eight-legged horse Sleipnir, the fastest steed of all nine worlds.
On the other hand, Loki sometimes conspires against the gods: he is jealous of the bright Baldr and will bring about his end, and it is said that at the end of time he will burn the whole world. While in many other mythologies the gods are immortal, in Norse even Odin, Thor, and all others are destined to succumb in the final battle against Loki and his sons. But the destruction of the old world is not to be considered as an end, but rather as a renewal.
Among the flames that will consume the world, a new order of things will be born, ruled by new gods. As we can see Loki is a complex mythical figure. So which runes are associated with Loki? Let’s find out together!
A list of runes associated with Loki
Kenaz represents the bright flame of divine inspiration: Rebirth through sacrifice, Creation through fire. This is the rune of the craftsman, and it will appear frequently in readings for those engaged in artistic endeavors or seeking creative solutions. New ideas shine in the dark. What was once gloomy is now brilliantly illuminated by the introduction of creativity, the energy that gives light and radiant heat.
Kenaz’s torch represents enlightenment and an immense store of divine knowledge. You are entering a new understanding of life and its meaning. New insights await you but don’t be complacent. Use this new understanding or it will be useless. Look for ways to use your insights for the good of yourself and others.
The more you use your knowledge, the more knowledge you gain. Enlightenment itself is not the goal, it is only the starting point of a great adventure that will show you great wisdom and understanding if you proceed with truth and honesty, something Loki struggles a lot with and that prevented him from becoming wise and strong guide.

As a rule, each rune has different characteristics, such as a dark and light side. The rune Dagaz is no exception. It is considered to be two-sided. First, it symbolizes the beginning of something good, associated with the dawn.
On the other hand, it is a symbol of a warm, rich, and relaxing midday. The Triumph is its other name, in the static sense. It is a sign of obtaining, resting after hard work, prosperity, and achievement. It symbolizes silent development, lack of obstacles and struggles, full protection, elimination of enemies and rivals. This is the inner meaning of Dagaz.
The rune in the esoteric sense speaks of the choice of the right direction of development, the correct passage of the lessons. The power of those who illuminate the path is more harmonious than ever.
Faced with some pleasant events, in a mysterious sphere. The downside is that it doesn’t give guarantees. Dagaz is the rune that opens roads but will not lead you down them. It will talk about the favorable situation, but not how the person will take advantage of these circumstances. The struggle between the good and the bad but also the light at the end of the tunnel for Loki when he does something good. This rune represents all this and so much more!
The Hagalaz rune symbolizes the destructive forces of nature, which strike unexpectedly and can subvert the rhythm of existence. For example, it may happen that a person glued to the TV is suddenly surprised by a lightning bolt or a storm that strikes the house. A force like this can disrupt ambitious projects (especially those elaborated for a long time), since circumstances, which are beyond the control of the individual, delay or hinder their realization that something is occurring.
These circumstances could also be an external obstacle to the manifestation of an event, induce conflict situations or cause the alienation of some inner impulses. This rune also warns of the impending danger of choosing the easiest path, which would culminate in the stagnation of the process of personal growth. The Hagalaz rune, therefore, contains the complex principle that we must be exposed to difficult and dangerous situations in order to learn and grow.
This rune represents an uncontrollable and destructive force, which strikes suddenly and instantly destroys long-cultivated projects. You must immediately be warned against the logical reaction to take the easier path. Moreover, by renouncing unconvincing and reckless ambitions, limiting the damage that would ensue, much suffering can be prevented. This rune is so amazingly connected with Loki and his duality!
