Why should I honor Yule with a prayer?
Yule, which runs from the 20th to the 23rd of December, celebrates the themes of rebirth; silent introspection; of the new year; hope; intentions, and light. In most traditions, Yule is the Sabbat that starts the Wiccan Year.
This is the winter solstice, although it is typically celebrated on the 21st of December, the exact time of the Solstice varies from year to year due to a slight misalignment between the Gregorian calendar and the actual speed of rotation of the Earth around the Sun.
Yule, a festival of fire, is a time to celebrate the return of light. From this point on, the days will gradually lengthen again, until they reach the peak of the power of the Sun at the Summer Solstice. So, doing a prayer for Yule is great to prepare ourselves for what’s next.
It is the longest night of the year. We bring in and analyze the activities we have carried out in the previous summer months. Yule is the time for awakening and new projects, leaving remorse behind. Magic work should be about balance, beauty, peace, and harmony.

You can create a sigil and use it as an amulet stating to the universe what you would like to get thanks to light in your life. Make your own sigil being very honest and real about what you truly want.
Light a white candle
Before chanting your prayer or before doing your little cleansing ritual light up a white candle to let its bright energy shed some light into the darkness within your soul.
Meditation is the most powerful and effective tool we have for introspection! Focus on yourself and how you feel and let these emotions come alive. Don’t hold yourself back. Visualize yourself doing what you want and accomplishing the goals set.

What should you do after prayer?
After prayer, you can let the candle burn out completely or you can use it for more Yule prayers, in case you decide to make it like a part of a daily ritual.
Keep the sigil very close to you, even better if you can have it in a purse or a pocket during the day, especially when dealing with other people or handling challenging situations.
Besides that, after the prayer, try to trust yourself and this chance for protection and emotional management, and when you feel you need it, spend some time in relaxation and expressing how you feel in a way you prefer, talking to someone or writing about it.
