Are Sigils Safe? (Should You Have One or Not?)

You might know how much I love sigils and how often I suggest them as a way to channel the right energy around you and attract all sorts of things, from love to happiness and protection. Sigils are incredibly easy to create and very effective but are they safe? I am going to shed some light on this topic with this article!

The ancient magick of sigils

Since time immemorial, human beings have used the magical power of symbolism: images, in fact – particularly the symbols from which they are composed – are widely used in the magical and esoteric context for various reasons.

Magic sigils were, in ancient times, one of the most widespread and most used occult tools by wizards and witches of all times, places, and traditions since the magic sigil represents the essence of magic, the intention, the spirit of will stripped of every tinsel is shown in its deepest intimacy.

Magic sigils are real graphic spells, a material exteriorization of one’s will, of a desire that is finally made physical and tangible. While the voice allows the spell to ‘fly’ as they say, the sigil remains imprinted in the soul and in the “stone”. Each magical technique works differently but not one is considered better than the others, but it is necessary – with time, study, and experience – to learn how to choose the right technique to use to reach one’s goals.

Create and forget!

As mentioned previously, one of the basic rules of magic involves forgetting the action. This, as mentioned, also applies to the magic of sigils: once you have created and activated your personal magical sigil, let it do its work without interfering with your thinking.

At the end of the work, forget what you have done and wait to grasp the results that – with longing and desire – you have concentrated in the plots of the sigil.

Magical sigils of the deities

If you think that the magic of sigils is only about creating personal sigils and symbols, in reality, you are very wrong!

Most of the pagan divinities are linked and connected to a sigil that embodies their essence: a symbol or a sigil that represents, in a certain sense, a real signature. In fact, through the personal sigil of the deities, it will be easier to evoke the entity and work directly with its powerful energy. Sigils, symbols, or “signatures” represent the direct evocation of the entity to which the sigil is connected.

The ancient grimoires – already mentioned at the beginning – often show us magical symbols and sigils connected to the relative entities: angels, demons, Gods, spirits … Each entity, more or less known, has its own sigil, its own signature which is equivalent to its name more intimate and archaic and can be used by witches and wizards to recall their presence during a ritual of ceremonial magic.

However, these sigils are not always easy to find, but this does not mean that the practitioner should be discouraged from using this wonderful form of magic. In fact, the sigiling techniques can aid us in times of low motivation!
