Connecting with a deity is a life-changing experience, a wonderful way to create a life with the best of your potential and your possibilities and, of course, having a deity helps you live your magical journey with a new, improved attitude and openness that will do wonders for your craft!

So, with this article today, I want to answer some frequently asked questions about deities and I will share with you some tips and tricks on how to know more about the kind of deity that is connected with you and so much more!

Which deity am I connected to?

This is a great question! Knowing which deity you are connected to is definitely important for getting in touch with it, honoring it, and celebrating it in order to create a long-lasting beautiful connection with this deity and let it become part of both your life and magic.

There are so many different deities and it can be hard to know which deity is the one you are connected to!

The first thing to do is not to force anything. If you want to connect with a specific deity, don’t get me wrong, there is nothing bad about it and you can totally give it a try.

How? Cast some spells honoring it, invoke it, honor it with some offerings, and dedicate your altar to it, but don’t forget to listen to your intuition and read the signs!

It might happen that, for example, you would like Aphrodite to be your goddess but the signs around you show you something different and you can find out that another goddess, for example, Circe or Hecate, is the one who is trying to connect with you!

So don’t be too restrictive but be open to welcome any deity who wants to connect with you!

Meditate

If meditation is your thing you can use it to relax, disconnect, and reconnect to find your way towards a strong connection with your deity.

Simply set finding your deity as an intention for your practice and then say some powerful affirmations like: “I am open to your signs” or “show your presence”, something like that.

If meditation is not your thing, you can try with any other kind of relaxation you like. Feeling relaxed and stress-free is an important requirement to let it happen!

Focus on what inspires you the most

Does fire inspire you? Do you feel particularly interested in owls? Name it and you will have a solid starting point for your journey to find your deity! Don’t underestimate anything. On the contrary, whatever you like can be a sign that you can be connected to a certain deity.

Start your research from there and see where it leads you.

Educate yourself

This is an important step to get to know the deity that is connected with you and the signs it might be using to show its presence to you.

If there is a god or a goddess, any kind of deity you are interested in, you can read a book, do some research, learn more about them, and even read blog posts or articles online. Don’t miss a thing!

Be open

Again, don’t hold yourself back and don’t close yourself to what you will discover. Try to be open and receptive to any sort of sign and listen to your intuition from a place of acceptance and awareness.

Most of the time, we are not the ones that choose our deities. Most of the time, the deities choose us! They might feel a strong connection and want us to join them in an explorative journey of spiritual and magical growth, but also they might want you to become a messenger to spread their energies and their messages into the world.

How beautiful is that? So when a deity tries to connect with you, it’s because it thinks that you are perfect for its mission and that if you join forces you can create amazing things both in the mundane and in the magical world.

When you think you found the right deity for you, try to make a connection and see how it responds. Are there any signs, dreams, or patterns? All things matter at this point! Create a sacred place to honor this deity, do some magic in its name, and try to listen to your intuition and see how you feel.

Do you feel this is the one? Do you feel supported, positive, and guided along? If the answer is yes, it means you just found your deity!

What if I get no signs from deities?

This is totally fine and it’s not a problem at all! You don’t need a deity to be a witch! A deity is just a special bonus, a presence that might help you find yourself and boost your craft but it’s not a mandatory thing.

Don’t forget that true magic is inside of you. Inside, you have an inner god/goddess that is the best version of yourself ready to shine bright and be unveiled. You only need that!
