Symbols are one of the best tools for us to embrace, catalize and enhance certain energies. This article is all about my favotire choices when it comes to symbols that represents love.

These are my top choices and they can be there as an inspiration you can get something from but you can totally choose what resonates the most with you, your energy and your practice and lifestyle.

Together with the symbols I will add some of my favorite rituals to use these symbols to enhance their energy and help me manifest more loving energy into my life! I have found that love rituals do not need elaborate tools or complicated steps. The most powerful ingredient is always intention.

A rose, a symbol, a card or a simple ring can become something sacred when you fill it with meaning. Sometimes a few quiet minutes spent focusing on love can shift your entire day and remind you of how much love already exists within and around you. Letโ€™s begin!

Red Rose

The red rose has always felt deeply emotional and personal to me. Out of all flowers it is still the one that instantly makes me think about love in its purest and most intense form. There is something timeless about it.

Soft petals and thorns existing together almost like a reminder that love can be beautiful, passionate and vulnerable all at once. I remember receiving red roses during meaningful moments in my life and every single time they made me emotional in a way other flowers never really do.

Even now when I see a red rose I immediately think about affection, romance and heartfelt connection. I also love how dramatic and powerful they look. Their deep red color feels alive to me almost like the physical shape of emotion itself.

To me, red roses are not just romantic symbols. They also represent devotion, courage and the willingness to love deeply despite everything life puts us through.

Sometimes I keep dried rose petals inside books or journals because they hold memories so beautifully. Even long after the flower fades it still carries emotional energy and meaning.

Red rose ritual

This is one of my favorite rituals when I want to reconnect with love after a difficult period or simply celebrate the love that already exists in my life.

Take a fresh red rose and hold it in your hands. Spend a few moments admiring its beauty, color and fragrance. Think about all the forms of love in your life. Romantic love, family love, friendship and also self-love.

As you hold the rose say:

“May love bloom within me and around me. May my heart remain open to giving and receiving love.”

Place the rose somewhere special for a few days. Every time you see it, think of one thing or person you love. I especially enjoy doing this on Friday evenings with a cup of tea and a calm peaceful atmosphere!!

Heart

The heart symbol may be simple and universal but honestly I think that is exactly why it is so powerful. Since childhood we connect hearts with love, comfort and affection almost instinctively. I have always loved little heart details everywhere.

Notes from loved ones, heart shaped jewelry, tiny drawings from children. They carry such soft emotional energy.

One of the sweetest things for me is finding random hearts in everyday life like heart shaped clouds, stones or reflections. It always feels like a tiny reminder to stay open to love and tenderness.

What I love most about the heart symbol is that it is not only about romance. To me it also represents compassion, friendship, family and emotional warmth. It represents feeling deeply.

Even though the symbol has ancient origins and has existed for centuries it still feels incredibly alive today. We still use hearts when words are difficult. Sometimes a simple heart says more than an entire sentence ever could.

Heart Symbol Self-Love Ritual

This simple ritual is perfect for days when you need kindness and compassion for yourself.

Take a heart-shaped object or simply draw a heart on paper. Place your hand over it and think about everything you have survived, learned and accomplished.

Write three things you appreciate about yourself inside the heart.

Then say:

“I honor my heart. I honor my journey. I am worthy of love exactly as I am.”

I like keeping these hearts inside a journal because reading them later feels like receiving encouragement from my past self. Sometimes thatโ€™s all we need to feel good!

Infinity

The infinity symbol has always comforted me emotionally because it reminds me that love does not simply disappear. Deep connections continue somehow through memories, energy and the impact people leave on our hearts.

I have always been drawn to the soft endless movement of this symbol. There is something peaceful about it. No sharp edges. No true beginning or ending. Just a continuous flow that reminds me that love keeps transforming instead of truly fading away.

After losing my mom and my grandmother I found myself feeling especially connected to the infinity symbol. It became a quiet reminder that the bond we share with the people we deeply love does not end even when they are no longer physically here with us.

Their love, teachings, habits and memories still live inside us every single day. Sometimes I notice infinity symbols unexpectedly in jewelry, decorations or random little details and it always gives me a strange feeling of comfort and warmth.

Almost like a gentle reminder that love stretches beyond time and distance. For me the infinity symbol represents emotional connection, spiritual continuity and the idea that certain forms of love remain with us forever in one way or another.

Infinity symbol connection ritual

I like this ritual whenever I want to honor a lasting bond with someone I love or when I want to strengthen a relationship.

Draw or place an infinity symbol on a piece of paper. Sit quietly and think about the person or people you want to send love to. Imagine a stream of loving energy flowing between your heart and theirs in an endless loop.

Slowly trace the symbol with your finger several times while saying:

“Love flows freely between us. Our connection grows through kindness, understanding and care.”

I sometimes do this while thinking about my mom and grandmother or dear friends who are far away. It always leaves me feeling peaceful and connected to a whole new level!

Ace of cups

I know that the lovers tarot card would be the first popping up when it comes to the best card representing love but, to me, nothing speaks to me about love, passion and union more than Ace of Cups.

I adore this card as the cup is there to gather emotions and feelings. It reminds me of all the emotions together able to create something beautiful meaningful and powerful by being together, connected, united. I love it so much!!

Ace of Cups love manifestation ritual

The Ace of Cups is all about emotional abundance and allowing love to flow freely.

Fill a beautiful cup with water. Hold it between your hands and imagine the water filling with loving energy.

Think about what kind of love you wish to attract or nurture. Maybe more harmony in your family. A deeper connection with a partner. More self-love. More friendship.

Say:

“May my heart be open. May love flow freely into my life. May I recognize and cherish the love that surrounds me.”

Then water a plant with the water from the cup. I love this step because it feels like planting the intention and allowing it to grow naturally.

Wedding band

When my husband and I got married we made our officer explain why the wedding band is such a powerful symbol of love!

According to Chinese legend, each finger represents a special person in your life: the thumb symbolizes your parents, the index finger symbolizes brothers, sisters, and friends, the middle finger symbolizes yourself, the ring finger symbolizes your loved one, and the pinky symbolizes your children.

To understand the meaning of this Chinese legend, place your hands together, palm to palm. Then, join one middle finger to the other, pointing them toward yourself, as symbolically.

From this position, if you try to separate your thumbs, you’ll notice that they separate because everyone is destined to separate from their parents sooner or later. If you do the same with your index fingers, they separate, because friends, brothers, and sisters also live a destiny that belongs only to them.

If you try to separate your pinkies, they also separate, because your children will separate from you when they grow up.

Now try to separate your ring fingers from this position and you’ll find it impossible. This is because the fate of a groom and a bride is inextricably linked, and the ring is the symbol of this bond.

Curious, surprising, and very romantic! People were really impressed and moved by it! I often touch my wedding band with intention when I miss my husband or when I need the loving energy circle up and flow again.

Wedding band love circle ritual

Even though wedding bands are traditionally linked to marriage, I think this ritual works beautifully for anyone who wants to celebrate any meaningful relationship.

Hold your wedding band or another meaningful ring between your hands. Focus on it shape. Think about the memories, promises and moments of love connected to it.

Slowly turn the ring around your finger three times while saying:

“Like this circle, may love continue to grow. May trust, respect and affection strengthen every day.”

One thing I personally love doing is touching my ring when I miss my husband or when life feels stressful. It reminds me of the commitment, support and love we have built together. Even a small gesture like that can feel surprisingly comforting!!!

Doves

Whenever I think of doves, I do not immediately think of romance. I think of friendship, loyalty and those people who feel like home. Maybe that is because I grew up watching Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and I always loved the Dove Lady.

There was something so touching about the way the birds gathered around her and how kindness and connection transformed loneliness into friendship. Doves represent the people who stay in our hearts through the years. The friends who support us during difficult times.

The ones we can call after months without speaking and pick up right where we left off. Their gentle nature reminds me that love is not always romantic. Sometimes it is friendship, trust and simply knowing someone cares!!

Dove friendship ritual

Find an image of a dove or draw one on a piece of paper. Write the names of friends you love and appreciate around it. Light a white candle and spend a few moments thinking about the happy memories you share with them.

Say:

“May friendship continue to grow. May love, trust and kindness connect us across any distance.”

Keep the paper in a journal or special box as a reminder of the beautiful people in your life!

Red thread

The red thread will always be one of the most romantic symbols for me because of a story my husband told me when we first met.

He shared the Japanese legend that two people destined to meet are connected by an invisible red thread.

The thread may stretch, tangle or twist but it can never truly break! How cool is that?

I remember being completely enchanted by the idea. Even now, years later, it still makes me smile!

There is something comforting about believing that certain people are meant to find each other no matter how unlikely the circumstances may seem.

The red thread represents destiny, connection and the mysterious ways life brings people together.

Red thread love ritual

Take a piece of red string or ribbon and tie it loosely around your wrist.

Think about a relationship you cherish or a loving connection you wish to strengthen.

As you tie the knot say:

“May the bonds of love in my life grow stronger with trust, kindness and understanding.”

Wear the thread for a few days or keep it somewhere meaningful until it naturally feels right to remove it.

Apple

Apples have always felt magical to me. Maybe it comes from fairy tales, mythology, and folklore where apples often appear as symbols of beauty, desire, and blessings. I especially love apples because they feel warm and comforting rather than dramatic.

Apples are traditionally an offering for love spells or to dispel temptation.

They remind me of family kitchens, autumn afternoons and simple moments shared with people we love.

Cutting an apple in half and discovering the tiny star shape hidden inside always feels like a little piece of everyday magic.

Apples represent love that nourishes us.

The kind of love that feels safe, generous and welcoming. So sweet!

Apple love ritual

Choose a beautiful apple and hold it in both hands.

Think about the love already present in your life and the love you wish to attract.

Cut the apple across its center and look at the star formed by the seeds.

Say:

“May love grow and flourish in my life. May it nourish my heart and the hearts of those I love.”

Enjoy eating the apple mindfully while focusing on gratitude.

Lock and key

The lock and key symbol has always felt wonderfully romantic to me. It reminds me of trust and vulnerability. We do not give everyone access to our hearts. We choose carefully who receives the key.

I have always loved lock and key jewelry because it represents two people who understand and accept each other completely. Not because they are perfect but because they feel safe together. This symbol is about opening our hearts while also honoring our boundaries and protecting what matters most.

Lock and key ritual

Place a small key beside a lock or simply use images if you do not have the physical items.

Think about what you want your heart to be open to. Love, healing, forgiveness or connection.

Hold the key and say:

“I open my heart to healthy, loving and supportive relationships.”

Then place the key into the lock and turn it while imagining old fears being released.

Keep the key somewhere special afterward as a symbol of trust and openness.

Swans

Swans are one of my favorite symbols of love because they always seem so graceful and devoted. Whenever I see photographs of two swans together, I cannot help smiling.

What I love most is that swans seem to move through life side by side. There is a quiet elegance in their partnership that feels very different from grand romantic gestures. It feels steady and enduring.

Swans represent to the kind of love built through everyday moments. Shared laughter, mutual support and choosing each other again and again.

Swan partnership ritual

Find a picture of two swans or draw them facing one another.

Sit quietly and think about a loving relationship in your life.

Write down three qualities you would like that relationship to continue developing such as trust, patience or joy.

Say:

“May love move gracefully through my life. May our bond grow stronger through kindness, respect and understanding.”

Place the paper somewhere safe and revisit it whenever you want to nurture that relationship with intention.

How to use these symbols

These symbols can be used in our daily life as gently reminder of love in our life. They can also become like an amulet or a talisman for us or to gift to someone we love and care about in any shape of love: a partner, a dear friend, or a family member.

Love is universal! Of course, if you are into witchy rituals you can use these symbols as part of a magical practice or as items on display on an altar for you to honor, celebrate, attract and manifest love in your life.
