How to put roots on a man to keep him? A step-by-step guide
This easy-to-perform ritual is a beginner-friendly way to put roots on a man to keep him and to finally feel that connection you felt was missing in your relationship!
What do I need to perform this ritual?
You need a small tree (any tree is good, a bonsai would be great but being a bit expensive, you can choose a small tree of any kind); you can buy it online or at a florist. If you cannot find a tree, you can use a plant you like too.
For example, I once used a lily, the plant linked to the month of May, the month my husband and I first met and got married. You can play with the plant’s meaning and symbolism or you can choose a plant you like and that recalls some sweet memories or emotions.
Other ingredients include:
- A picture of you and your man together
- A red candle
- A small red cotton thread

1. Clear your mind and focus on your goal
This first step might seem naïve but trust me when I say that there is nothing more important than this when performing a ritual or casting a spell, especially for this type of magic that often comes shortly after a fight or a huge disappointment.
Clearing your mind and leaving all negativity, resentment, and anger behind is the foundation you need to perform this ritual from a place of love. Because, at the end of the day, you love your partner and you want him in your life even if you are mad at him right now!
So, try to keep all that behind and focus on what you truly want. Visualize him being with you completely, having all eyes on you, and being 100% committed to your relationship.
To focus, use a candle, a relaxing atmosphere, listen to some relaxing music, and do what’s best for you to feel happy and calm again.
2. Light the candle and set everything up
Light the red candle, take the plant or tree out from its pot, and place the picture at the bottom of the pot together with the red cotton thread with a small knot. Now take the candle and put some of its wax on the picture, saying these words:
“May my man have roots
May my man be mine forever
May our love be like this plant
May our love have vital purity and prosper”
And then place the plant or the tree in the pot again, leaving the items at the bottom of the pot. Snuff out the candle as you need to reuse it.
3. Staying consistent and chanting
Each day around 9 P.M., light the same red candle nearby the plant and chant that prayer. Do this for three days. Keep watering the plant or tree when needed.
I wasn’t that consistent with the prayer, I could not chant it for three days in a row. What can I do?
If you weren’t that consistent it means you were not that focused on the ritual. This might happen. Don’t freak out! Instead, try to commit once again to try to do it for at least three times when you feel completely focused and committed. Even if it’s not three days in a row, your presence in the moment and you believing in the process is what matters the most.
What is going to happen to the plant/tree?
Nothing, as long as you take care of it! Keep taking care of it, I suggest taking care of it in a more caring and gentle way as it is representing your relationship with your man. Don’t forget to water it and leave the items used for the ritual right there at the bottom of the pot.
If you show the plant some love, it’s like you are showing your relationship love and dedication and it will boost your connection with your man even more.
Plus, it’s a natural item linked to Mother Earth, so showing respect to it is like showing respect to nature, magic, and energy. It’s like honoring the craft and your love at the same time!

If something happens between you and your man and you want him out of your life, remove the plant, take the items out, and get rid of them, burning them. The red candle used for the ritual can be reused for love spells, as soon as the person you are going to cast a spell on is the same!
