What is Braucherei: a Magical Healing System

Broucherei is a magical healing system that originated with the Pennsylvania Dutch, descendants of German-speaking immigrants to the US. Magical doctors, known as hexenmeisters or braucher focus on healing, protection, and removing curse-type conditions.

The system itself is called Pow-Wows or Braucherei. The system combines Christian prayers with traditional European folk magic and Medieval Catholic charms.

The Heathen tradition Urglaawe is very similar absent the Christian elements.
