Or they may simply pray to maintain their connection to deity or as a form of meditation.
Many magic-users offer daily prayers of gratitude as a form of honor to deity or they may offer these prayers as an energetic exercise to help them maintain a joyful and grateful outlook in order to encourage more blessings to flow to them.

At first I found it difficult to create my own prayers but I started writing my feelings and emotions and that helped me a lot to truly get what I wanted and ask for help, guidance, solutions. You can do the same!

I turn to prayer when I need clarity, feel grateful, need comfort, before a ritual or simply feel a connection with a deity, a time of the year and so on. So when I feel it, that’s the right time!
Can You Pray During a Ritual?
Yes of course. If you feel the need you can do it but if you are not intro prayers you don’t have to feel less good at your practice or a not so good witch! You are still amazing even if you choose to rely on another tool to feel supported, connected and guided.. that’s ok!
I dare saying that’s what truly makes of you a great witch! Knowing it’s your practice and you can make it your own as per your wish!
Do You Need an Altar to Pray?
Not at all! An altar, candle, crystals, incense and other tools can help create a sacred atmosphere, but they’re not required! There are not fixed rules.
You can create your altar or not. So if you feel you need a quick prayer when at work or out for a walk you can chant there! That’s the power of a prayer.. it’s an on the go tool!!
What If You Don’t Know What to Say?
You can start in a simple way by chanting how you’re feeling, what you need, what you hope for or what you’re greateful for! Keep it simple and you don’t need fancy complex wording.. not at all! In order to be effective, it should be.. YOU!
