Romania: A Modern Witch’s Guide to the Magic of Transylvania
This article presents a first-person travel narrative documenting the author’s exploration of folk magic traditions in Romania, with particular focus on the Transylvania region and Romani cultural practices. The piece distinguishes between contemporary neopagan “gypsy magic” as popularized in Western occult communities and the traditional practices of the Roma people, which derive from an oral lineage influenced by Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam.
