Spirituality

Welcome to our spiritual sanctuary, where we delve into the profound and mystical realms of spirituality.

Here, you’ll find a treasure trove of articles that explore the many facets of the human spirit, from ancient wisdom to modern practices.

Join us on a journey of self-discovery, enlightenment, and inner peace as we navigate the ethereal realms of the soul.

What Is Spirituality?

For me spirituality starts with curiosity. A need to explore ourselves to a whole new level. It means experimenting, embracing the hidden parts of our soul but also using and channeling tools and practices to let the spiritual part resurface. For those who focus on spirituality it’s like asking these questions:

  • Who am I?
  • Where do I come from?
  • Where am I going?
  • What gives my life meaning?
  • What values are important to me?
  • What makes me feel connected?

So spirituality is such a complex topic! And there is no single definition of spirituality that works for everyone. Your spiritual life may involve a belief in God, the Universe, nature, energy, a higher self, or something else entirely. You may also still be figuring out what you believe. And that’s okay.

Spirituality doesn’t necessarily begin with having answers. Sometimes, it begins with being willing to ask the questions and find a way to explore them.

It’s not looking for THE ULTIMATE ANSWER, a superior answer that is like a rule, a prefixed concept, it’s looking for your own answer. What makes YOU a spiritual person. What drives YOU towards the deepest parts of your life.

Do You Have to Be Religious to Be Spiritual?

Absolutely not! You can be a spiritual person without being religious and viceversa. While a religion often has a set of beliefs, spirituality doesn’t. It’s more about you choosing what enhance your spiritual side and what to do to find it, embrace it and channel it in your daily life.

What Are Some Simple Spiritual Practices?

You don’t need complex and long routines and daily rituals to be more spiritual! There are actually some practices that can take only a few minutes. Sometimes less is more!

Meditation

Meditation can give you a quiet moment to slow down, focus your attention and observe your thoughts. You don’t have to meditate for an hour. Even a few quiet minutes can be a starting point.

Journaling

Writing down your thoughts, emotions, questions, dreams or spiritual experiences can help you notice patterns and understand yourself better. You can even start with one simple question:

“How do I feel? Why?”

Grounding

Grounding practices can help you reconnect with the present moment and become more aware of yourself and your surroundings. This can be as simple as spending time outdoors, walking barefoot when appropriate, breathing slowly, or paying attention to what you can see, hear, and feel.

Nature

You don’t need a particular belief system to find spirituality in nature.

Walking through a forest, watching the Moon, sitting near the sea, gardening, or simply noticing the changing seasons can become meaningful spiritual experiences.

Prayer and Affirmations

Prayer can be part of a religious practice, but some people also use prayer as a personal way to communicate, reflect, express gratitude, or ask for guidance.

Affirmations can similarly help you focus your attention on an intention or belief you want to cultivate.

Tarot and Divination

Tarot and other forms of divination can be used in different ways.

Some people use them to seek guidance about the future. Others use them as tools for reflection and self-exploration.

For me, this second aspect is particularly interesting because a card can sometimes make us notice something that we already carry somewhere inside ourselves.

Can Spirituality Help You Understand Yourself?

I believe it can. Spiritual practices can give us different ways to slow down, look inward and understand what we are feeling. For me, things like tarot, crystals, candles, journaling and ritual can become speakers to my true self. I firmly believe we already know so much but still we don’t truly listen to yourselves anymore. Spirituality it’s like turning up the volume!

Can Tarot, Crystals, and Witchcraft Be Part of Spirituality?

They can.

Crystals, candles, tarot cards, pendulums, herbs, altars, and other spiritual tools can give us something physical to focus on during a spiritual practice.

But you don’t need any of these things to be spiritual.

A tool is a tool. What matters is the meaning and intention you give to your practice.

I particularly like the idea of spiritual and witchy practices becoming speakers to our true self.

Sometimes we know that something is bothering us, but we haven’t found the words for it yet. A tarot card, a journal prompt, a ritual, or even a quiet moment with a candle can give us a different way to approach that feeling.

The tool doesn’t necessarily have to give us the answer. Sometimes it simply helps us ask a better question.

Is Witchcraft a Spiritual Practice?

For some people, yes.

Witchcraft can involve spirituality, ritual, nature, magic, seasonal celebrations, divination, herbs, crystals, candles, deities, and many other practices. But witchcraft isn’t one single tradition, and not every witch approaches spirituality in the same way.

For me, one of the most interesting things about witchcraft is that it can turn spiritual ideas into something we actually do.

Instead of simply thinking about intention, we can create a ritual around it. Instead of simply thinking about the changing seasons, we can celebrate them. Instead of simply asking ourselves a question, we can use a form of divination as a way to explore it.

How Can You Start Exploring Spirituality?

You don’t need to educate yourself with endless books and long weird practices. Follow your insticts and you won’t be wrong!

  • Start with curiosity
  • Choose one practice
  • Keep a journal
  • Explore what resonates
  • Don’t worry about labels

Final thoughts

When I was young, spirituality sounded like a mission impossible to me! Not being that religious I found it like something too distant from me. But over time I realized I should not live it as something stressful and difficult. Actually it felt like that because I couldn’t find the best way to make it work, to listen to my true self and unveil my own spirituality. Then I started experimenting with curiosity, an open mind, a different persepctive open to all nuances and practices. I’ve find my own and I am sure that with the right approach you all can find yours!
