The key to successful witchcraft isn’t in the books you read. It’s not the quality of gemstones on your altar. It’s got absolutely nothing to do with how long ago you started or which path you chose.
The single most important factor in an effective magical practice is the often the thing that no one mentions:
Consistency.
Just like any other skill, learning and growing as a witch, more than anything else, comes down to applying yourself on a regular basis.
It’s the little things you do every day that builds your practice and your personal power to shape the life around you.

How to make magic a consistent part of your life.
If you only ever think about your Craft on the luna llena, you quickly discover that magic drifts out of your worldview in the remaining 27 days.
That’s a lot of time to be distant from your spiritual practice.
And it’s understandable. After all, time, in our society, is precious.
But the benefits of time spent developing yourself spiritually spills over into every other area of your life. And it doesn’t take much time at all to maximize your results.
So today, we’re offering you 8 ways to incorporate magic in your life that take less than 8 minutes.
Pick one, stick with it for a full moon cycle, and be wowed by how this little change makes a huge difference—in your magic and your life.
1. Design a magical morning routine.
Studies show that successful people maintain a consistent morning routine.
Make yours magical with one of these ideas to start your day.
2. Do an altar check.
If you keep a home altar, pick a simple, daily devotional either in the morning or just before bed.
This can be simple as lighting a candle and repeating an affirmation, or anointing yourself with a little moon water.
3. One card tarot draw.
You need not draw an elaborate tarot spread to get something out of your deck on a daily basis.
Try a simple, one-card tarot draw and let its wisdom guide you through your day.
4. Try a dream routine.
If you don’t access your dreams for insight, you’re missing a huge daily opportunity to connect with your own divine nature.
Keep a journal by your bed and try writing down your dreams every single day for a month. Don’t wait. Do it as soon as you wake up.
After a month, I promise, you will be amazed at how much you discover about yourself.
5. Mindful meal prep.
When you prepare your biggest meal of the day—even if it’s just warming up soup on the stove–think intentionally about the ingredients and the process.
In what way can you incorporate your tradition?
Which spices or herbs hold meaning for you? Is there a blessing you can say silently before your eat that will nourish your soul as you nourish your body?
6. Soothe your soul in the shower.
When we think of ritual cleansing, we generally think of steeping in a long, hot bath of sacred herbs and oils.
But let’s be real. Ain’t nobody got time for that every day.
Did you know you can use all the same ingredients you use in a ritual bath in the shower?
Try placing a few drops of essential oil on the shower floor and allowing the steam to carry it up to your lungs. Breathe deeply and mindfully, and imagine washing away tension, negative thoughts, and self-doubt.
One of my favorite methods in the summer is gathering fresh herbs from the garden, tying them up, and hanging them right on the showerhead. It’s the next best thing to an outdoor shower.
7. Visualization.
Try a simple meditation.
Sit down in a quiet spot for 5 or 10 minutes.
Mentally walk through your plans for the day. Picture yourself moving smoothly and effortlessly from one moment to the next, and flowing like water around unexpected or challenging events.
Try it. It makes a huge difference in how you handle yourself.
8. Go outside.
Make a point to commune with nature every day.
Don’t just step outdoors.
Actually connect with it directly. Skin-to-earth.
Literally, take your shoes off and feel the ground under your feet. This is called earthing and it’s amazing.
