Are you trying to get over your ex? It’s okay. We’ve all been there.
Maybe your relationship was super toxic. Or, maybe not. Maybe you just drifted apart and grew in different directions.
Either way, your heart doesn’t always move on as fast as your head.
So, today, we’re going to talk about how you can use your magical practice to send those nagging, lingering, annoyingly stubborn residual feelings on their way.

Don’t worry. This isn’t a lecture.
We get emails, comments, and messages all the time requesting love spells to recover a failed relationship.
We even get the occasional scammer/spam comments proclaiming “Just pay me, Dr. Love Spell Lady, $1000 and I will make him come baaaack to you!!” (Please don’t pay her. She won’t get him back. She will, however, take your money).
The fact that there is such a demand for this type of solution makes it clear that a lot of people think this is a good idea.
Spoiler alert: It’s not.
Not because I think a love spell will backfire and you’ll end up in one of the darker scenes of The Craft.
I’m not here to lecture you about the ethics of love spells.
Personally, I don’t like to tell people what they should and shouldn’t think about the consequences of magic—or even to convince them whether or not it works. That’s for you to experience directly and decide for yourself.
I’m just saying, which of the following seems mentally healthier to you:
1. Desperately clinging to a failed relationship and trying to recover someone who, let’s be honest, doesn’t want you anymore.
O
2. Making a decisive, conscious decision to let go of someone who clearly wants to move on so that you can move on, too.
I’m guessing it’s that second one. Which also happens to sound a little less . . . stalkery.
So, let’s talk about how to use spell craft to get over your ex.
3 Ways to Use Magic to Get Over Your Ex
Releasing Ritual
A releasing ritual is a spell intended to let go of people, places, things, or even circumstances that you’ve held on to, for whatever reason, in spite of their negative effects on your life.
It’s a slightly gentler approach than banishing and it works best when you’re struggling to let go of your ex even though you know that person is no longer (or maybe, never was) a positive influence in your life.
It’s also especially helpful when things ended fairly amicably, but the mourning period is kind of dragging on and you’re ready to find your way past it.
The simplest form is a baño ritual.
Try this.
1. Blend a few drops of a banishing oil, like (affiliate link —–>) rosemary essential oil into a cup of sea salt and toss it in the bathwater.
2. Spend some time steeping in your ritual bath. Imagine intrusive thoughts and feelings about your relationship draining into the water. You can even visualice this as a color (red, black, whatever) seeping from your body into the water.
3. When you’re done, open the drain and mindfully watch the water leave the bathtub, taking with it your attachment to this person.
Desterrar
A banishing ritual is a spell designed to expel someone or something from your life.
Banishing is a little more forceful than releasing. Whereas releasing is like gently taking a baby butterfly into a field and softly whispering to her, “Fly on little darling!” A banishing spell is more like bombing your basement with a cocktail of insecticides to drive out a stubborn infestation.
It’s effective, but it can be emotionally draining, and it’s best reserved for highly toxic situations that have driven deep roots into your life.
Try this banishing ritual to get over your ex.
Atracción
They say nothing gets you over the last one like the next one, and while I don’t recommend hopping from one relationship to the next as a coping skill, there’s something to be said for getting back on the proverbial horse.
Once you’re ready to start dating again, try an attraction spell to draw a little romance into your life.
Finally, get excited about what’s next.
If you’ve been mourning your last relationship, take a moment to think about how nice it will be to put it behind you and make room for a new phase of your life.
Trust me, things ended for a reason, and that reason is that the universe has something better suited for you.
Go find it.
